My Year 7s range in age from 12-14 years old. There were three or four of the books that proved to be more challenging for my students, especially "The Illustrated Man". Some of the novels were requests by the students (ie. "My Sister's Keeper") and it became the most requested book of the lot.

Great list of books. I like the guiding questions students have prior to their book discussions too. It avoids the bland "I like this book" response.

What age are your Year 7s? I teach Year 6/7s in Adelaide, but feel that many of these books would be beyond most of my class.
